Eating Seasonally: Winter

If you’ve received our Healthier Family tip sheet when signing up for emails, you know I’m a big believer in the importance of eating seasonally and local more often than not. In a world when you can get berries and citrus year round, it’s hard to know what’s really in season when you head to the store.

Let’s talk about some of the produce that’s in season now. These are foods you could expect to find at the farmer’s markets or on sale at the grocery store.

  • Avocado
  • Citrus
  • Kiwi
  • Pear
  • Pomegranate
  • Beets
  • Kale
  • Butternut Squash
  • Leeks
  • Sweet Potato
