Frequently Asked Questions

Working with a dietitian is an amazing option if you need help managing your child’s chronic disease(s), your child has weight issues (underweight or overweight), digestive issues, issues with food and eating healthfully, your child wants to improve their performance in sports, or you’re just looking for practical life advice to establish healthy eating habits.

A Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) has completed multiple layers of education and training established by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics. All RDs or RDNs must get a four-year degree which includes a specially designed, accredited nutrition curriculum, complete an extensive supervised program of practice at a health care facility, foodservice organization, or community agency, and pass a rigorous registration exam. What’s more, roughly half of all RDs and RDNs hold graduate degrees and many have certifications in specialized fields.

A Nutrition-Focused Physical Exam (NFPE) is a systematic head-to-toe examination of a patient’s physical appearance and function to help determine nutritional status by uncovering any signs of malnutrition, nutrient deficiencies, or nutrient toxicities (Today’s Dietitian).

Yes! Let’s set up an initial consultation. I’ll want to hear about the foods you’re offering, the foods your kiddo is accepting, and what mealtime is like in the home. From there, we will address any potential problem areas and give tips for improving your kiddo’s diet.

I would love to chat with you and help you choose what best fits your needs. Feel free to schedule a free consultation call here and we can get started!

I meet families where they are at and help make realistic goals with small and actionable steps. I focus on the whole experience of food and nutrition, not just weight status. We will talk a lot about mealtime dynamics and the long term family goals – think pleasant dinners with a wide variety of foods represented and parents that aren’t short order cooks.

I would love to help! You can either select one of our pre-made menus here, select a custom menu here or come in for a one-on-one so I can teach you how to keep food fun and exciting.
