Courtney has been a foodie since childhood spending her teething days munching on asparagus. For the early part of her life she was on the receiving end of food, not much of a creator or experimenter. While her first bouts in the kitchen ended with warped pans and burnt cassoulet, she’d like to think those days are behind her. Her path to wellness went above and beyond a few google searches, , all the way to a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Simmons College as well as a Master’s degree in Nutrition Research from Arizona State University. This means she has completed the pre-requiste science courses (biology, biochemistry, organic chemistry, anatomy & physiology, etc) and has been trained in: weight loss, weight maintenance, weight gain, sports nutrition, food service management, nutrient metabolism, health & disease, as well as nutrition through the lifecycle. She is officially MS, RDN, with possible extra letters coming soon. Likes: baking bread, inventing granola flavors, mini marshmallows with chocolate chips, fresh clean flavors, rice pilaf and sharing popsicles (or popsicles) with her family.
Carver is a full-fledged, card-carrying member of the Clean Plate Club. This makes him a wonderful taste-tester because his comments start with, “This is delicious!” and are then followed with a comment on how to make it even better. His unconditional love and amazing skills with the dishes make the partnership one that can’t be beat. Likes: granola, cookies, muffins, seconds, pork chops, bacon, steak , sweet potato fries and one pot meals (the fewer the dishes the better!!).
Cody joined our family in April of 2012 – a week before our wedding. He came barreling through our front door on a rainy night as a 3 month old puppy and he’s been a happy little boy ever since. He loves walks, bones, toys with ropes and squeakies, and always eats his fruits and veggies.
We picked Sophie up from the pound as a 3 month old (sickly) puppy in March of 2013. She is quite the princess and is a big personality. Sophie loves to run, bark at birds, steal all of Cody’s toys (sometimes even Charlie’s spoons!) and will eat anything you put within tongue’s reach.
The newest member of the family is our little man. He also has a great appetite for food and for life. Charlie has so much energy and is so happy, it’s been such a joy. We are looking forward to all the future adventures this boy brings into our lives and welcome them with a full heart and empty stomach!
