We all have the same amount of time each week- making things happen is purely a matter of scheduling your time. The first time I heard that statement it blew my mind. We all know how long the days feel and how quickly the weeks seem to pile up. I’m sure that contributes to our overestimating what we can accomplish in a day. But what about weeks and months?
As I’m feeling like the to do list is neverending and my desire to maximize quality time with my family increases, I’m searching for ways to improve my efficiency (and mindfulness). I happened to scroll across Laura Vanderkam‘s time tracking challenge the other night while nursing Charlie. I decided that it was time to really track my time and see where it all goes. I know this phase of our lives will pass again quickly but learning about this phase and finding ways to maximize will undoubtedly help me in the future as we get busier. You don’t have to sign up to do the challenge, or even track your hours this week. But I think it’s a very enlightening task, a meditation of sorts.
